2009 Tentative Schedule: 


Woodmont Goes Green!
Saturday July 25th 2009
 

8:30 - Parade registration on Devol St and kicks of with Grand Marshalls Dick & Ellen Austin at 9:00.
 
John Volk bench dedication.

The parade will stop at the corner of Beach and Belmont for memorial service for John Volk. If all goes well we may have a visit from the the recently renamed
State Department of Agriculture's vessel, 
The  " RV John H. Volk".

 

9:00 - 10:00 - Parade theme “Woodmont Goes Green”

 

10:00 - 10:45 - Mayor address and parade awards

 

After parade will be the singing of
The National Anthem by Abbey Watt.


10:45 – 11:45 - Character Show with music, dancing, meet and greet

 

11:00 - 3:00 - Kids games & Crafts

12:45 - 1:45 – "Chris & Howie's Accustic Cruise" 

 

11:00 - 4:00 - Food, Beer, Photography tents,
                       T- Shirt & Woodmont Flags sales

 

11:00 - Swim races

 

12:00 - Running races

 

1:00 - 2:15 - Relay races and or tug of war (grapefruit pass)

 

1:50 - Pie Eating Contest

 

3:15 - Daytime Door Prize- must be present to win

 

4:00 - 6:00 - Break (breakdown of tents, food closed*)

 

5:30 - 7:00 -  “The Elwoods” 
 

8:00 - 11:00 - Bonfire 
 

7:15 - 11:00 - “Rumrunners” 
 

9:45 at second band break - Evening Door Prize. You do not need to be present to win.

 

Food reopens at 6:00 and goes to 10:30

Ticket Booth open until 10:00
Woodmont Day ends at 11:00PM

The Garbage Museum
Kevin Malone, coordinator of the group "Kids Clean Up Connecticut" and author of the soon to be published book "Trash-o-saurus Wrecks", will exhibit at Woodmont Day.  He will demonstrate ways for people to help the Garbage Museum by recycling used items and purchasing recycled products.  He will also have information on "Kids Clean Up Connecticut", a group dedicated to helping young people make a positive impact on local environmental issues.  Mr. Malone may be contacted at 203-396-0641 or malone_env@yahoo.com.
